Trip 3: Barcelona Day 1

We got up early this morning and got breakfast at the hostel before getting on the train to Basel. Once we got to Basel, we had a delicious lunch at a little cafe in the park by the train station. We decided to head out to the airport pretty early to make sure we got all of our luggage things sorted out (EasyJet is pretty strict about carry-ons… they don’t believe in one carry-on and a personal item, just one carry-on only).

While we were waiting by the terminal, we met this German couple that was having a great time. They were on their way to vacation and super excited about it. We talked with them for a while, learned a lot, and also got a lot of high fives.

Somehow, we managed to get all of our stuff on the plane without having to pay outrageous fees. Once we landed in Barcelona, we got on a train into the city. Stepping out of the metro station was unreal. It was about 10 and the city was alive. There were so many people on the street and it was really pretty. Probably one of the biggest cities I have ever been to.

Sorry I can’t figure out how to rotate these pictures, but this is Gaudi architecture. Super cool.

After we checked in (we were right, this place is a palace compared to our good old tent), we got dinner downstairs and then headed out to explore the city a little bit with some people we met at dinner.

It was a good day, and I’m excited to explore the city tomorrow.

Much love,

Han
