trip 3: strasbourg day 1

after moving into our apartments this morning, the advisors did their best to keep us awake in an effort to get rid of jet lag. i can’t say they were 100% successful. many a nap was taken. it was crucial for survival. 

we made a quick trip to the grocery and toured the city on the way to Dr. Tubb’s house. the city is more gorgeous than i could have imagined. strasbourg is basically an island with a river encircling it with winding cobblestone roads that remind me of italy. the architecture is something from a fairy tale.

there is also this huge cathedral in the middle of town that is unbelievable.

more pictures to come tomorrow. we are scheduled to have a survival french course (hopefully afterwards i will know more than bonjour and pardon and merci) and then a scavenger hunt to better acquaint us with the city. 

france has been good to me so far! i will update again tomorrow.
